Why We Need to Beware Of Foolish People
Some biblical warnings about people who are foolish.
We all know people in our lives who we consider to be foolish. We usually dismiss them as harmless. Unfortunately, when we take a look at some of the characteristics of fools, we see that they are not only annoying but can be harmful and even dangerous. Not all fools exhibit all of the following traits, but many do.
How Fools Can Be Harmful
They speak without thinking
Fools will say whatever comes into their heads without considering how their words would affect other people. Even if they knew they were hurting people, they did not care. Sometimes their absurdities will make us smile, even though we probably shouldn’t. If there is a wrong thing to say, they will say it.
The problem is that their words are often inappropriate, embarrassing, or hurtful. They open their mouths to change feet. If we offer words of wisdom, they will scorn us. We should not confide in fools because they are unable to stop blabbing. We should not speak to them, if possible (Proverbs 20:10, 13:16, 23:9).
