Why Aren’t Christians Talking About the End Times?
Here are some reasons why there does not seem to be much talk about the end times and second coming of Christ, and why we should be learning more about these events.
When I first became a Christian in the 1970s and 1980s, I heard a lot about the end times forecasted in Matthew 25, 2 Thessalonians, the book of Revelation, and other sections of the Bible. I avidly read some of the best-selling books that suggested that the second coming of Christ was soon. Some religious groups dared to predict the date and time of these events. The dates came and went. Since then, I have not seen much about this topic on Christian social media feeds.
I recently came across the movie Left Behind on a streaming service. I had seen it years ago. The movie sparked my interest again in biblical predictions about our future. The topic can be terrifying but also gives me hope for salvation.
Why aren’t pastors and ministers talking about the end times?
I recently saw a Twitter posting asking: “Why Are Pulpits Silent On The End Times?” While some Christians say that sermons about prophecies are sometimes preached from their pulpits, many are not.
