Turning Emotional Wounds into Scars

While recovering from an operation, I struggled to deal with a large wound that refused to heal. I went to a nursing clinic two to three times a week to get treatment and a bandage change. The wound refused to heal. It would open and bleed now and then. Sometimes, it was sore or painful. I had surgery to close it, but new wounds surfaced.

I gave up on the clinic and ordered my supplies online. So far, homeopathic remedies and medication the clinic was using have helped shrink the injuries down to small spots I hope will clear up very soon.

Emotional wounds and scars can act the same way. I was emotionally wounded from parental physical and emotional abuse, abuse, and other hurts for a long time. Hurts can open easily, bleed, and can be triggered into pain.

When people hurt and offend us, it can make us feel powerless. Humanly, we hurt and feel sore inside. However, in most cases, we do have choices in how much we are wounded. We can choose between having open, festering sores or scars.
